This one-day workshop aims to increase participants understanding of the principles, methods, and interpretation of statistical models for longitudinal data using the R software environment, a powerful, popular and free statistical and graphical programming language.
Longitudinal and mixed-model analysis with R (26 September 2018)
Wed, 26/09/2018 - 09:00 to 17:00
This workshop is relevant to biologists, researchers and generally any student who are dealing with longitudinal data and want to understand how to analyse them. The workshop is relevant for all disciplines, although examples and exercises will focus on biological datasets. Prior knowledge of R is mendatory as the basics of R will not be covered. Participants are expected to be familiar with the concepts of statistical hypothesis testing and regression analysis.
- Introduction to principles of longitudinal data analysis
- Introduction to linear mixed models using specific R packages
- Understanding the basics of fixed and random effects, and how to choose them
- Run models in R
- Data interpretation and visualisation from such analyses
